Today I would like to remind everyone, or I would like to actually argue, that a program or a method that is a lot of fun but is highly enjoyable won’t necessarily be the most efficient or the most effective for learning the language.
I’ll have a big disclaimer here: while it is really important that we enjoy the language learning process, that’s something that I’m always going to mention, I’m always gonna bring it up because I think it’s so important for us to enjoy the process as we learn the a new language.
I still think that at times we’re gonna come across a program or a method that is extremely fun, but it’s important for us to remember that it’s not necessarily going to be the most effective thing at the time… And perhaps the more effective, more progress-inducing program or method is going to be a little bit more challenging at the beginning and it won’t seem as much fun as another alternative that may be a bit easier, but in the long run it can pay off.
So what I mean by that is just well whenever we’re giving a specific program, strategy, a method a bit of a try, I think it’s important for us to give it a really good try because I just have the feeling that some language learners they don’t necessarily, you know, give it a good try…
They just started and then they just simply put it aside if they don’t find it really really that enjoyable at the beginning. So I think that that’s really important for us to give it a shot with specific methods or any sort of program, app or resource that, you know, you have the feeling that might be really effective but doesn’t seem that enjoyable at least at the beginning. So there you go! I hope you keep that in mind and good luck!
